TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions apply to all bookings for Ridgecliff. By making a booking with us you acknowledge that you have read and abide by these terms. These terms may be updated at any time and will be posted on our website. Please take care to do your due diligence and ask all necessary questions and confirm dates, time and details with all parties before making your booking.

BOOKINGS

When making a booking, please ensure that all the details you provide are correct. It is your responsibility to notify Ridgecliff if any of your details have changed. We reserve the right to refuse a booking and refund any payments made at our discretion.

Rates may increase without notice due to any changes in government requirements, taxes or levies. Guests will be notified where possible of increases.

PAYMENT

A 50% deposit must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining 50% taffif is due 14 days prior to the arrival date. Ridgecliff will accept payment by Bank Transfer or Credit Card via our external booking site Lodgify. Ridgecliff reserves the right to release dates if payment terms are not met.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT

Big Hill Luxury Retreat:

Check in time is 3:00pm

Check out is 11:00am

Accrington Farmhouse

Check in time is 3:00pm

Check out is 10:30am

To ensure guest safety, guests must check in by 5pm (autumn/winter/spring) and 8pm (summer), unless via prior arrangement.

We do our very best to accommodate early check-in or late check-out. Please enquire when booking.

We consider our housekeepers as part of the Ridgecliff Farm so please be considerate of this check out time. Late check out will incur additional fees equal to one day’s accommodation.

RATES               
Prices are in New Zealand dollars.
Prices also include 15% GST.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We are a small family business so please be mindful that cancellations impact our business and appreciate when guests postpone their booking rather than cancelling where possible.

The following notice periods apply to ALL cancellations (inclusive of COVID related situations) at Ridgecliff accommodation. All cancellations must be requested in writing.

We strongly recommend the purchase of comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that may result in the cancellation of your holiday booking.

Cancellation within 30 days of arrival date: 50% of the total booking price will be charged.
Cancellation within 14 days of arrival date: 100% of the total booking price will be charged.
Credit Card details supplied will be used to charge any cancellation fees.
Ridgecliff reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as adverse weather conditions. In this case, a full refund will be given.

During peak periods (December - January, Easter, Public Holidays and Public Holiday long weekends) all bookings are strictly non-refundable.

Rescheduling a booking:

A booking can be rescheduled with no cancellation fee, provided more than 30 days notice has been given. The new booking date must be within 12 months from the original booking date and only one date change per booking is permitted before an administration fee is then applied.

No refunds will be given for any early departures.

Please allow 7 business days for refunds.

GUEST OCCUPANCY

The maximum number of guests in:

  • Big Hill Luxury Retreat is 2 persons (strictly adults only)

  • Accrington Farmhouse is 17 adults (adults and children)

    Guest occupancy must not be exceeded.

CHILDREN

Children are welcome to stay at Ridgecliff in Accrington Farmhouse only and must be accompanied by an adult at all times in the property and on the farm grounds. Please be aware animals are farm animals and we are not a petting farm. Ridgecliff accepts no liability for the actions of children whilst on the property.

Cots, high chairs, fire and stair guards are available at Accrington Farmhouse. You will find plastic utensils in the kitchen.

Children are not permitted in Big Hill Luxury Retreat

BEHAVIOUR AND NOISE POLICY

Unreasonable noise will not be tolerated after 9:00pm. Guests that do not respect this policy will be asked to leave the property at any time of day or night and no refunds will be applicable.

VISITORS, PARTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Guests’ visitors are not permitted onto the property. Please be respectful of this rule. Ridgecliff does not allow for parties and all events/elopements/weddings must be organised through our packages.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Guests must take care to look after the property, furnishings and surroundings. Any faults, damages or breakages must be reported to the owners. On departure the property must be left in a clean and tidy state. You will find a check out checklist in the Welcome Book. Ridgecliff reserves the right to charge guests for the following, but not restricted to, all damages and breakages inside the accommodation and on the property, lost keys, missing items, extra cleaning and unpaid expenses. An amount equal to the repair or replacement cost for the damaged goods will be automatically charged .

If any items are missing from Ridgecliff after your departure, the cost of replacement will be automatically charged to the credit card provided as security for the booking following at least one attempt to contact the credit card holder.

You must not alter, move or rearrange any furniture, fixtures or fittings inside or outside.

ANIMAL POLICY
Due to Ridgecliff being on a working farm we can’t allow people to bring their own beloved dogs due to safety issues around stock. 

NO SMOKING | VAPING POLICY:
Guests agree not to smoke or vape inside the property. A breach of this policy will result in a NZ$500 cleaning fee.

LIABILITY:           

Ridgecliff accept no responsibility for loss or damage to guest property during the rental period.

You acknowledge that the Ridgecliff property is unsupervised and that there are inherent risks in in the surrounding environment.

You will use all walking tracks at your own risk in the knowledge that there may be safety risks, and that tracks may not be suitable for ill prepared, unfit or inexperienced walkers.

You agree to take due care at all times for your own safety while using the facilities at Ridgecliff.

You acknowledge that you will be staying at Ridgecliff at your own risk. To the extent permitted by NZ law, Ridgecliff disclaims all liability for any loss or damage suffered (including physical injury and liability for negligence) while staying here.

To the extent permitted by NZ law, you will indemnify Ridgecliff for any loss or damage suffered by Ridgecliff in relation to your stay except to the extent caused by the willful default of Ridgecliff.         

Should any dispute arise, such dispute will be governed by the laws of New Zealand.
